Face Coverings Required
The Daufuskie Island Ferry is again running its full schedule. Following SC’s DHEC requirements regarding the COVID- 19 virus, all ferry passengers must wear face coverings in accordance with the directives below. Please be aware that when you purchase your ferry ticket you are entering a contractual agreement with the Daufuskie Island Ferry to follow its policies.
- All passengers are required to wear a face covering over their nose and mouth throughout the entire passage, including while loading/unloading luggage and cargo, while in the waiting areas, on the docks and while on board the ferry inside the cabin or on open decks.
- Small children who are not able to maintain a face covering are exempt from this requirement. Face covering guidance is provided on the CDC website.
- The application of hand sanitizer prior to boarding will continue as consistent with past practice.
The Daufuskie Island Visitors Center, Suite 102A, 1536 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, 29915, is open and provides FREE day-time parking and shuttle service to the ferry.
Catching the Ferry
The normal daily ferry schedule except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day is as follows:
- To Daufuskie: 7 AM, 10 AM, 1 PM and 4 PM (on Fridays only 9 PM)
- From Daufuskie: 8:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM (on Fridays only 10:15 PM)
On Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years, the ferry departs for Daufuskie at 7AM and again at 4PM and the ferry returns from Daufuskie at 8:30AM and again at 5:30PM.
If you are staying overnight on Daufuskie, tickets are $45 round-trip and you should plan to park at the ferry landing. When you arrive at the landing, a ferry team member will assist you with your luggage and direct you to available overnight parking at the landing, the fruit stand or the service station. Overnight parking in any of these areas is $10 per night per car.
Buckingham Landing is located at 55 Fording Island Road Extension (which is just off Hwy 278 at the foot of the Hilton Head Bridge on the Bluffton side).
If you are visiting Daufuskie for the day, tickets are $35 round-trip and you should go to the ferry’s Daufuskie Island Visitor Center, 1536 Fording Island Road (Hwy 278), Suite 102A (across from the entrance to Moss Creek) where there is FREE day-time parking and free shuttle service to the landing.
The Visitors Center includes a comfortable reception area, refreshments and a gift shop. A concierge at the Center will assist passengers with parking and boarding the shuttle. Large carry-on items are not permitted on the shuttles. Shuttles are available for all ferry arrivals and departures except for the 7 AM morning departure to Daufuskie. The Center is open everyday from the beginning of March through Labor Day.
If at all possible, single-day visitors should avoid parking at Buckingham Landing where space is at a premium and parking is $20 per day per car.

There are two shuttles per ferry departure except for the 7AM departure to Daufuskie. Shuttles leave the Visitor Center 30 minutes and 10 minutes before each ferry’s departure time.

Ferries depart from Daufuskie at: 8:30 AM, 11:30 AM, 2:30 PM and 5:30 PM (on Fridays only 10:15 PM).

DAYTIME parking is FREE at the Visitor Center. Daytime parking at Buckingham Landing (including parking spaces at the landing, the fruit stand and the service station), is $20 per day per car if available.
OVERNIGHT parking in any ferry parking area (including the visitor center, the landing, the fruit stand and the gas station) is $10 per night not to exceed $100 per month.
There is no charge for parking overnight at the Beaufort County Government Center, 4819 Bluffton Parkway, Bluffton, 29910. However, all cars parked there must have a ferry dashboard parking permit which can be obtained from the concierge at the Visitor Center or from a ferry team member at the Landing.
